Beachgrass#1 SOLD

This was a fun, interesting and educational piece. I ended up still being too illustrative but of course that would happen when painting blades of grass! I originally posted it earlier but I made changes and this is the final piece..

Lace Field

This is such a typical Cape Cod meadow scene (photo from last summer) - I am used to seeing them but they are definitely becoming rarer as time goes by. I walk my dog here and every time marvel at something. The area consists of about 57 acres of cedars, pines and oaks, plus the widflowers that grow better every year. I've seen lots of wildlife and at this time of year it is starting to come alive again. Time to go shoot more photos!

"Easy Breezy, Calli"

Just finished this: my first painting of my last horse, Calliope.
Calli was such a delight and I'm sorry I didn't photograph her more without tack like this.
I always loved this photo and I feel I did manage to capture the feel I wanted.
She's a mellow-tempered racehorse - probably loves the wind in her mane, even just standing still!

I'm happy to say that Calli is enjoying a great new career in dressage with her new owners!

Sanderling#4, 8" X 8", acrylic on board

This is the last of a set I had planned of four.
I loved doing them and loved the size; I'd like to do more.
I do have a few planned with 4-5 Sanderlings in one piece, so keep watching.

Sanderling#3. 8" X 8", acrylic on board

I have reworked this and it is now finished.
